Gardening Fun

A special thanks to our garden helpers, Kelly and Kate who took us out to plant our seedlings this morning! We dug up the weeds first to make the soil ready then planted our beans, marigolds and other plants!

Golden Rules

Today we talked about golden rules. We talked about the importance of following them and decided on some consequences if we don't follow them. We all agreed to try our very best to follow them and signed a TREE-ty with a thumbprint. Quiz us on what our golden rules are so we can remember them!

Grounds duty

This week it is our turn to look after our school environment by picking up rubbish after lunch. We found some interesting things that had been blown behind our class like a cone, ball, shoes and even a jumper! We will be doing this all week and hope the rubbish will get less and less as we don't want our school to be a rubbish bin!!

Bee Pantomime

Today Mrs Tuck told us she loved bees and Mrs Makani said she didn't because she got stung! We had to teach her to love them.

In Mrs Tuck's basket was Baked beans, tomato sauce, flowers, strawberry ice cream and they all had help from bees! Bees pollinate flowers that help make things like strawberries or beans or tomatoes. Binoculars were also in the basket. Can you remember what birds do to help bees?

We got to hold some wax and listen about how the bees work together and the different roles they have. He told us some very interesting facts and we asked him some questions too.

No, just a wasp.

We went on a bee hunt
Past Room 2
Bee! Bee!
Was it a bee?
No, just a wasp.

We went on a bee hunt
Next to room 6
Bee! Bee!
Was it a bee?
