Well done to Beth who raised $67!!
Life Education bus
Today we had our first session with Jess and Harold from the Life Education bus. We learnt about all the things that keep our body going. We met Harold the giraffe and Tam the plastic doll. Eilidh found Tam's heart and we saw how the heart (the biggest muscle in the body) pumps blood. We also learnt a cool little song that we can hum when we clean our teeth! We can't wait to go back on Wednesday afternoon!

"We're going on a Duck hunt"
We went on a hunt today after lunch to try and find some ducks. It didnt take long! They were playing in Carpark River! Miss Macartney got really close but then they flew away, so we all got to cross the river to get a better look at them! We tried hard not to get our feet wet! Then we wrote about what we saw.
Sneeze Safe
Today we talked about being safe when we sneeze so our germs can't make others sick! Miss Macartney blew bubbles to show us how germs fly away. We blew bubbles and tried to catch our germs. Miss Macartney then put glitter on her hands and did an unsafe sneeze! It went everywhere!! She then gave everyone a high 5 and her glitter germs spread! Oh no.

Writing time
Today we had a very interesting writing lesson. Miss Black had got a present from her Grandma and they were little capsules. But what was inside?
Here is what we did:
First we felt the capsule we thought they were very hard.
Next Leandro put the capsule into Miss Macartney's lunchbox which was full of water!
It didn't work! So we read the instructions and they said it had to be in warm or hot water so we boiled the jug and Eilidh tried again.
This time it worked! The capsule turned into a blue sponge! We were very excited.
Now some of us were lucky and got to put some more capsule in. The same thing happened! They turned into more sponges!
Then we got to touch them once they cooled down. We thought of words like sticky, slimy, spongy, wet, hot and cold.
Finally we got to writing our stories. It took us ALL afternoon but they are great! Come in and read them!
