Next we drew a picture that went with one activity. Finally we ordered them. Now we have a great timetable across our room - come and see!

Dress Rehearsals
Dress rehearsals for the shows start next week so could you please start bringing in your settlers clothing named and in a plastic bag.
It will need to be at school until the end of week 3.
We will also be looking for some Parent help in Week 3 escorting us to Green Bay for our filming. If you are available please let us know.

The Leaf Hunt
The worms and Miss Macartney went on a leaf hunt today after reading the book "This Leaf". We explored around our school to see what we could find. Some leaves were too big to bring back to class!

Matariki Celebration and Showcase
Today we had our Matariki celebration! We put our Matariki masks and coloured stars on and paraded around the field in the morning. Then we watched the teachers have silly races like running with a ball between their legs. After lunch we had a special assembly and sung a Matariki Macarena.

Helper of the week
This mystery person is our helper of the week! She is always asking to help others and helps the teachers by wiping down the tables. Thanks helper!!
Painting Friday
This week we read a big book about a bunny rabbit jumping into different paints and making new colours! We learnt
Red+yellow=orange
Blue+yellow = green
Blue +red = purple
Today we made colour wheels with paints and mixed paints together!
We then used our mixed paints to paint our Matariki Masks. What a lot of painting !!
Rectangles
Today the rectangles worked on the computer to practise their counting! They made pictures by drawing "how many more to ten". First they rolled the dice to get a number, then they counted how many more to ten! Check out the cool pictures they drew!
Certificate
Today our class certificate went to Bridget Simpson for her great work in Writing! Bridget has been sounding out words using blocks! Well done Bridget.

Reports
Today our Mid Year progress reports will be in our book bags! These report on the progress made towards the National Standards so far this year. If you have any queries or concerns please don't hesitate to see Miss Black or Miss Macartney.
Word lists
Some of us have been bringing home word lists to practise our high frequency words.
There are 16 words for us to learn.
Everytime we bring them back to school we get stickers for each word we get right!

Matariki celebration: fried bread
Today as part of our Matariki celebration we made fried bread! We used our 5 senses to describe what we could smell, see, hear, feel and best of all what we could taste!!

Writing wonders
Today we watched a funny video where an old ladies' dog ran away with her still holding his lead! Check out the great job we did writing by ourselves and using the blocks!
