Last day fun!

We have worked very hard this term. Our very first term at school!! Our teachers are very proud of all our achievements. Today we had a special treat! We had a little popcorn party to finish our African week.

Congratulations to...

Zephaniah who won our class certificate for his huge improvement in reading this term! Zephaniah moved up 5 reading levels!


Another congratulations goes to Jayden who won the best boy jolly jar design in all of Arahoe school!

Yoga

We started today with some yoga stretching and balancing. We made some great poses like dolphins, starfish and seagulls. We also surfed and turned ourselves into palm trees! It was a great way to start the day.

Thunder and Rain!!

While it was wet and windy outside we made rain and thunder inside too!!! We clicked, rubbed our hands together and stamped our feet!!!!

Octopus

Here are our fantastic artists in Room 22! They took their time and drew great octopuses!! Well done Sweta and Moutaz!!

Well done Jayden

Jayden got our class certificate at assembly today for writing some high frequency words all by himself in his writing book this week! Ka pai Jayden!!

Core exercises

Today we had a Room 22 boot camp! We did exercises like passing a ball with no hands, backwards sit ups and kicking sitting down to build our core strength. It is important for us to have a strong core so that we can sit up nice and straight and concentrate when we are on the mat.

It was too hard to pick today. These two girls did their best at jump jam to move and jump and shake! Ka pai girls.

Handwriting

We have been working hard getting our Casey shapes and patterns looking amazing! Here are some super hand writers from today. Our handwriting books are full of great photos of our hard work. Feel free to have a look when you drop us off in the morning.

Mr Munchy and Mrs Crunchy

We have two new helpers in our class.. MONSTERS!!!
Mr Munchy LOVES to eat words and Mrs Crunchy just LOVES to eat letters!
They help us to find them in the classroom. Mr Munchy has been helping us find and eat 'the' and 'like' and Mrs Crunchy helped us today and ate lots of the letter 'u'.  I wonder what they will want for lunch tomorrow?

Reminder from Room 3

Calling all helpers!

This Saturday is the Arahoe School PSG Gala day! There will be lots of exciting activities, games, food and things to buy.

Each class has been asked to have a parent helper to help for a couple of hours on the day to make everything go smoothly. This event is put on to fundraise for resources and equipment used by our kids ( for example the computer suit and playgrounds)

So, if you think this is you please comment below or email Imogen and I. We would be very grateful for any help:)

Mrs Hoffman

Mrs Hoffman has been coming in and filling in for Miss Black every Tuesday morning, while she finished her Beginning Teacher programme. Miss Black has now officially become a fully registered teacher (yay) so Mrs Hoffman will no longer be visiting us :-(

The Pirate Show

Today Captain Festus McBoyle and Finnigan came to school and sung about cockroaches walking the plank, crabs and even Zombies.. We clapped and stamped to the beat and got to sing Arrrrs and ooooooos as well!
